4 Signs You Need a New Sign

If a good sign is a sign of good business, then a bad sign sends the opposite message. But what, exactly, makes a sign bad?

Here are our top 4 reasons:

#1 Your Sign is Faded or Falling Apart

Like everything else in life, signs age: Weather and time can take a toll on any material. But like it or not, your sign reflects the state of your company. If it’s faded, torn, or broken, customers might think twice before patronizing your business.

#2 The Content is Wrong

It might seem like an obvious reason to update a sign, but it’s not uncommon for businesses to put off updating an incorrect sign. Have you recently rebranded? Launched a new logo? Changed ownership, hours of operation, web address, or your telephone number? A new sign should be at the top of the list!

On the other hand, if you’re experiencing short-term changes like a seasonal shift in operating hours, temporary signage provides your customers with the correct information without breaking the bank.

#3 It’s Hard to Read

A sign can be unreadable for several reasons: the script is loopy and illegible, the font too small, or the color too light. Something that seemed fun and trendy a few years ago can suddenly seem silly and impossible to read. And if we’re talking billboards, the information needs to be legible to drivers in a split second.

The bottom line: If customers can’t easily understand your sign, it’s time for an update.

#4 The Placement is Bad

Is your sign too far from the road? Has new construction or a change in landscaping blocked a portion of your sign? Don’t leave potential clients uninformed: Move the sign or add another!

At Signs By Tomorrow, we think of a sign as an extension of your business. You wouldn’t ignore a leaky roof or an outdated computer, so why neglect your sign? Take care of your sign and it’ll take care of you.
